Murad Muradov is a visual artist, creative director, and art director from Baku, Azerbaijan, whose work explores the intersection of cultural heritage, surrealism, and artificial intelligence. Drawing inspiration from Azerbaijani cinema, Middle Eastern music, and the cultural landscapes of his homeland, he creates dreamlike visual worlds where tradition meets futurism. This video, created using AI-generated imagery, features my music alongside visuals that evoke the surrealist visions of Alejandro Jodorowsky and the poetic, symbolic cinema of Sergei Parajanov, two artists whose work I deeply admire.

As a musician, I view AI with considerable scepticism, particularly because of its impact on music and the questions it raises about artistic labour, authorship, and human creativity. I remain open to new technologies, but I don't believe technology itself is what gives art its value. For me, that value lies in the human imagination, experience, and intention behind it. I can appreciate the aesthetic world of this video while remaining conscious of the complicated relationship between AI, imitation, and artistic originality.

Throughout history, cultures and artists have borrowed from, reinterpreted, and transformed one another's work, creating new forms through exchange and dialogue. I find this process of genuine transformation far more compelling than mere replication. With these thoughts in mind, I appreciate the visual direction of this piece while continuing to believe that human creativity is what makes art meaningful.
